Once a dispute has arisen it becomes difficult for the parties to agree upon the most appropriate ADR process.  Productive use of ADR is much more likely if the parties have agreed upon the utilzation of ADR and the most effective process for the dispute early in the parties' relationship.  System design is a broad concept, covering the whole range of ADR processes.  The process involves evaluation of the most typical conflicts encountered by the organization, determining which ADR processes are most effective in dealing with those disputes, designing the most appropriate procedures that match the disputes to be managed, and developing an implementation
